We believe giving back to the local community is part of being a responsible corporate citizen. The Saint Vincent DePaul Society runs a dining facility called St. Vinnie’s Bistro in the Prospects Courtyard at the Haven for Hope Homeless Shelter. The facility serves the homeless and poor of San Antonio with hot meals on a daily basis. In 2007, two service minded friends with a desire to make a difference in the lives of the homeless in San Antonio founded a charity called “Meating the Need”. The organization recognized that there was a need for someone to provide quality meats and protein staples that meals could be built around. The Champion Group has chosen Meating the Need as it's primary charity. 100% of the money donated goes directly to feeding the homeless.
In order to provide support for St. Vinne's Bistro, many of the Champion Group's employees regularly donate funds and/or volunteer their time by helping to serve hot meals to those in need. In addition, the President of Champion Group, David Gartley, is not only a volunteer at St. Vinnie's Bistro as well, but an active member of the Meating the Need board.
